We Do Not Need To Beg For Bread

25 I was young and now I am old
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
26 They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be a blessing.
-Psalms 37:25-26 (NIV)
One morning as I was praying, I was in the middle of declaring God’s word when I received a revelation from Him. Has that happened to any of you? You weren’t expecting it or at least you weren’t expecting it right then and there. We all want to hear from the Lord but sometimes before we even finish our sentence or statement, He is already revealing. That morning, I was declaring that “He is Jehovah Jireh, my provider, that He has made me the lender and not the borrower, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath”. I declared that “I will not beg for bread”. As I said that statement, I heard the Lord say to me, “my children do not need to beg”. When His Word says “begging for bread” it was not just talking about the spiritual aspect (the Bible) but provision in all areas of our lives. He let me know that if it belongs to Him, if it is who He is then as His children we have access. We do not have to beg our Father for what belongs to Him if we need it.
At times in prayer for certain things, we pray without ceasing (1Thess. 5:17) but sometimes that ceasing can turn into us begging God, trying to persuade Him or get Him to notice us, hear us. We keep pleading with Him to release that which we have asked for or desired but nothing, well so it seems… so we keep trying. Pretty soon we find ourselves in unbelief yet still praying without ceasing. Just because we are faithful in our prayers does not mean we are praying in faith. Faith is believing the unseen, it is a knowing in your heart that the one who sees all and hears all is faithful to His Word.
I know that sometimes when we pray, we can have an urgency, and it seems as though God is taking His time …but He is never late. In Matthew chapter 6:25-33, God tells us worrying can’t add a single day nor can it change the situation, but it can take your focus off who is in control. He knows all that we need before we even ask, He knows all that is going to happen before we even experience it. He is right beside you; you are not alone. What I did not disclose to you earlier is during that time of prayer I mentioned I had been without a job for almost 3 years. Things were getting tight and I only had enough in the bank for one more month of bills. I was begging God to open the doors for a job, for someone to pick my resume out of the hundreds I sent, to send me financial aid… it was then that I began to declare His Word and I received that revelation. I thought because so much time had passed that I had to beg Him, I was getting anxious but He reminded me of His Word and how throughout this time I have been the lender and not the borrower, that I never wondered where my head would lay or what I would eat, nor the clothes on my back. Jehovah Jireh has been here the whole time, in spite of what my situation looked like.
Brothers and Sisters, sometimes we can get distracted with the waiting that we think God hasn’t heard us, so we go back again and beg Him to listen and answer. The truth is He was listening and has sent out an answer, but the manifestation of it is for an appointed time. If you haven’t seen it yet, know it is coming. Stand in your belief of God’s Word, our Heavenly Father will not withhold no good thing from us (Ps. 84:11). We are His inheritance and have access to all of God and all that encompasses Him.
So, if what we are asking for lines up with who God is and His Word, then know you do not have to beg you simply just have to… ask! You are loved.
11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
-Matthew 7:11 (NIV)
Nosotros No Necesitamos Mendigar Pan
-Mateo 7:11 (NVI)
