What does it mean to purge biblically?
Purge- to cleanse of sin and guilt, to remove impurities, or to become pure, clean, or clear.
In our lives we will come across seasons of purging. Now I am not talking about eating something bad and needing to purge; although that too will happen in your lifetime. I am talking more in a spiritual sense, more in relation to God and your relationship with Him. If we are going to move forward in this New Year, then we need a purging. Some of us may need to purge things in our home, closet, kitchen; some of us may need to purge in our office space at work. We may even need to extend it a little further and purge toxic relationships. But, the areas of our lives that God is really after is the inner us. The part of us that interprets the world as we see it. The place in us that no one else gets to see except Him, the place where we feel and He heals. Our bodies are the temple of the Lord God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and sometime they are asking you for a purge.
So many of us are comfortable in our filth, clutter, sin that we do not even realize all that we have acquired and packed into our minds, hearts, spirits, souls and lives. We may not have realized that there was such a thing as a spiritual purge. You may have thought that once you were saved that you didn't need one; the truth is, we all need them. Before we enter into our different seasons of life God likes to purge us. You see, in life we can become comfortable with things and let our guard down or remove boundaries that were meant to keep us safe and holy. However when we make room for the things of the flesh and world we begin to push the good out and everything attached to it. When God purges, it is a purification process, it does not happen over night. In time you will begin to see His hand guiding and pointing to the very things that are hindering your walk, communication and closeness with Him. There are things we watch on Tv, music we listen to, conversations we have that we know are not pleasing to God. Our self talk is very important, because it exposes what we believe about ourselves, about God and what He can do. That is why God wants our words to be edifying to us and Him. There are habits in our lives and addictions that it is time to let go, surrender them to God and obey.
Submission to the Holy One is not easy, He challenges us, there is going to be pressing and squeezing but I promise you in the end the results will all be worth it. We have allowed sin and disobedience to have a place to long in our lives. It is time to say enough! Satan, every lie you have spoken to me, every trap you have set for me and my family, take it back. Every demonic characteristic, personality trait and way of thinking that does not please my Heavenly Father I cast it down to the obedience of Jesus Christ.
Brothers and Sisters, when we allow God to do a purging in our lives it makes room for Him, His peace, His joy, His strength, His blessings, His wisdom, His understanding, His clarity and His protection. As we obey the leading of the Holy Spirit on the areas of our lives we need to purge let's remember these truths in the process. God is the cleanser, the one who's blood makes us as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18). The vinedresser who cuts off the branches that do not belong to Him (John 15:1). His Word (Jesus) is a double edge sword (Bible) piercing through soul and spirit, joints and marrow (Hebrews 4:12). God's Word (Jesus) transforms us (Romans 12:2). Come into this New Year with Newness. You are loved.
20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable,[a] he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

*Challenge: This New Year I want to challenge each and every one of you to make the time to ask God to show you the things and people you need to purge out of your life. Then wait and look for His guiding. A purging to purification!
Una Llamado A La Purga
¿Qué significa purgar bíblicamente?
Purgar- limpiar el pecado y la culpa, eliminar las impurezas o volverse puro, limpio o claro.
En nuestras vidas nos encontraremos con temporadas de ser purgados. Ahora bien, no estoy hablando de comer algo malo y necesitar purgarnos, aunque eso también sucederá en tu vida. Estoy hablando más en un sentido espiritual, más en relación de Dios y tu relación con Él. Si vamos a seguir adelante en este Año Nuevo, entonces necesitamos una purificación. Algunos de nosotros tal vez necesitemos purgar cosas en nuestra casa, armario, cocina; algunos de nosotros tal vez necesitemos purgar nuestro espacio de trabajo. Incluso podemos necesitar extenderlo un poco más y purgar relaciones tóxicas. Pero, las áreas de nuestras vidas que Dios realmente busca son nuestro interior. La parte de nosotros que interpreta el mundo como lo vemos. El lugar en nosotros que nadie más puede ver excepto Él, el lugar donde sentimos y Él sana. Nuestros cuerpos son el templo del Señor Dios, Jesús y el Espíritu Santo y a veces ellos están pidiendo una purga.
Muchos de nosotros nos sentimos cómodos con nuestra suciedad, desorden y pecado, y ni siquiera nos damos cuenta de todo lo que hemos adquirido y acumulado en nuestras mentes, corazones, espíritus, almas y vidas. Es posible que no nos hayamos dado cuenta de que existía algo llamado purga espiritual. Puede que hayas pensado que una vez que fuiste salvo no la necesitabas, pero la verdad es, que todos las necesitamos. Antes de entrar en las diferentes etapas de la vida, a Dios le gusta purgarnos. En la vida podemos sentirnos cómodos con ciertas cosas y bajar la guardia o eliminar los límites que se suponía que debían mantenernos seguros y santos. Sin embargo, cuando hacemos lugar para las cosas de la carne y del mundo, comenzamos a expulsar lo bueno y todo lo que está ligado a él. Cuando Dios purga, es un proceso de purificación, no sucede de la noche a la mañana. Con el tiempo, comenzarás a ver Su mano guiándote y señalando las mismas cosas que están obstaculizando tu caminar, tu comunicación y tu cercanía con Él. Hay cosas que vemos en la televisión, música que escuchamos, conversaciones que tenemos que sabemos que no agradan a Dios. Nuestro diálogo interno es muy importante, porque expone lo que creemos acerca de nosotros mismos, de Dios y lo que Él puede hacer. Por eso Dios quiere que nuestras palabras sean edificantes para nosotros y para Él. Hay hábitos en nuestra vida y adicciones que es hora de dejar ir, entregarlos a Dios y obedecer.
La sumisión al Santo no es fácil, Él nos desafía, habrá presiones y apretones, pero les prometo que al final los resultados valdrá la pena. Hemos permitido que el pecado y la desobediencia tengan un lugar por mucho tiempo en nuestras vidas. ¡Es hora de decir basta! Satanás, cada mentira que me has dicho, cada trampa que has tendido para mí y mi familia, llévatelo de vuelta. Cada característica demoníaca, rasgo de personalidad y forma de pensar que no agrada a mi Padre Celestial, la arrojo a la obediencia de Jesucristo.
Hermanos y Hermanas, cuando permitimos que Dios haga una purificación en nuestras vidas, hace lugar para Él, Su paz, Su gozo, Su fuerza, Sus bendiciones, Su sabiduría, Su entendimiento, Su claridad y Su protección. A medida que obedecemos la dirección del Espíritu Santo en las áreas de nuestras vidas que necesitamos purificar, recordemos estas verdades en el proceso. Dios es el que limpia, Aquel cuya sangre nos vuelve blancos como la nieve (Isaías 1:18). El viñador que corta las ramas que no le pertenecen (Juan 15:1). Su Palabra (Jesús) es una espada de dos filos (Biblia) que traspasa el alma y el espíritu, las coyunturas y los tuétanos (Hebreos 4:12). La Palabra de Dios (Jesús) nos transforma (Romanos 12:2). Entra en este Nuevo Año con novedad. Eres amado.
20 Pero en una casa grande, no solamente hay vasos de oro y de plata sino también de madera y de barro. Además, unos tienen fines especiales y otros tienen fines comunes. 21 Así que, si alguno se limpia de estas cosas será un vaso para honra, consagrado y útil para el Señor, preparado para toda buena obra.

*Desafío: Este Año Nuevo quiero desafiar a todos y cada uno de ustedes a pedirle a Dios que les muestre las cosas y las personas que necesitan eliminar de su vida. Luego, esperen y busquen Su guía. ¡Una purga para purificación!
