Happy New Year everyone!! I believe I have mentioned before that New Year's is my favorite holiday, not because of New Year's Resolutions but because of saying goodbye to the old and hello to something new. Starting a new year is like getting a redo, trying again, being able to reinvent yourself. It is like starting with a brand new slate, a Reset!
In January I like to start with a Fast and ask the Lord what words, phrase or things would He like me to focus on this New Year. Well this year one of the words He gave me, came right before CHRISTmas.... the word "Reset". Mid September of 2023 I resigned from my job, on the 11th of October 2023 I went to Boriken (better known as Puerto Rico) for about a month. I missed my island of course but more than that I needed a Reset. I stood with a friend, during that time I disconnected from everything and everyone (well, as much as possible). I wanted to be alone with my thoughts and God, a time to just reevaluate my life and the direction (s) He wanted me to go. I would love to sit here and write to you about how God moved in such a mighty way and spoke so profoundly in my life, but that did not happen. In fact, that time I spent in Boriken was very quite, restful and relaxing. The funny thing is that October is the end of hurricane season in Boriken, so it rained most of the time I was there but yet through everything I could feel God's presence. I could see His beauty and there were numerous rainbows after every rainfall to remind me that He was there (just as He promised).
I am not encouraging everyone to quit their jobs and go on a month vacation, hahaha (that would be if we lived in an ideal world). There was a little more to my situation but I do want to encourage each and everyone of you all to take a time to fast this January whether it be 3, 5, 7 or 21 days, seek God's face, ask Him to reveal to you the words or phrase He would like you to focus on this year. I know God still has more to reveal to me and I plan to find out what His heart has to say to me! I would love for you all to do the same. Sometimes we can get so caught up in New Year Resolutions, stress ourselves out to make sure they happen and then when the end of the year comes and we have not fulfilled them, we are disappointed. But, seeking God for His word (s) over your life switches your focus from your will to His. From your heart being broken and your soul being crushed at the end of the year to seeing God fulfill His word in your life. New Year's is a time to count your blessings from the past year and look forward for the ones that are yet to come. Don't be discouraged, the desires of your heart He sees them and knows how badly you want them, but He wants us to trust Him. Whatever word or phrase God speaks to you or thing He ask of you it is to help blend your desires with His, so that your hearts are in unity with one another. He will line you up with that long awaited desire, you will have your tree of life (Proverbs 13:12).
Brothers and Sisters this New Year 2024, take time to fast and seek the face of your Savior. Disconnect from Social Media, TV, Phone and anything else that you are able to that takes a lot of your time. Grab a pen and paper, sit before God and LISTEN! It is time to press the RESET button in your life. Lay your heart down before Him and everything that it holds inside, let Him speak over your life words that are personable to you alone. I can't wait to see God's words fulfilled for you in 2024! You are loved.

¡¡Feliz Año Nuevo a todos!! Creo haber mencionado antes que el Año Nuevo es mi fiesta favorita, no por los propósitos de Año Nuevo sino por decir adiós a lo viejo y hola a algo nuevo. Empezar un nuevo año es como rehacerse, volver a intentarlo, poder reinventarse. Es como empezar con una pizarra nueva, ¡un reinicio!
En Enero me gusta comenzar con un Ayuno y preguntarle al Señor en qué palabras, frases o cosas le gustaría que me concentrara en este Año Nuevo. Bueno, este año una de las palabras que Él me dio vino justo antes de NAVIDAD... la palabra "Reiniciar". A mediados de Septiembre de 2023 renuncié a mi trabajo, el 11 de Octubre de 2023 me fui a Boriken (mejor conocido como Puerto Rico) por aproximadamente un mes. Por supuesto, extrañaba mi isla, pero más que eso necesitaba un reinicio. Estuve con una amiga, durante ese tiempo me desconecté de todo y de todos (bueno, en la medida de lo posible). Quería estar a solas con mis pensamientos y con Dios, un momento para simplemente reevaluar mi vida y la(s) dirección(es) que Él quería que fuera. Me encantaría sentarme aquí y escribirles sobre cómo Dios se movió de una manera tan poderosa y habló tan profundamente en mi vida, pero eso no sucedió. De hecho, el tiempo que pasé en Boriken fue muy tranquilo, reparador y relajante. Lo curioso es que Octubre es el final de la temporada de huracanes en Boriken, por lo que llovió la mayor parte del tiempo que estuve allí, pero aún así a través de todo pude sentir la presencia de Dios. Pude ver Su belleza y había numerosos arcoíris después de cada lluvia para recordarme que Él estaba allí (tal como lo prometió).
No estoy animando a todo el mundo a dejar sus trabajos y irse de vacaciones un mes, jajaja (eso sería si viviéramos en un mundo ideal). Había un poco más en mi situación, pero quiero animar a todos y cada uno de ustedes a que se tomen un tiempo para ayunar este Enero, ya sea 3, 5, 7 o 21 días, busquen el rostro de Dios, pídanle que se los revele las palabras o frases en las que Él le gustaría que te concentraras este año. ¡Sé que Dios todavía tiene más que revelarme y planeo descubrir lo que Su corazón tiene que decirme! Me encantaría que todos ustedes hicieran lo mismo. A veces podemos quedar tan atrapados en los propósitos de Año Nuevo, estresarnos para asegurarnos de que se cumplan y luego, cuando llega el final del año y no los hemos cumplido, nos sentimos decepcionados. Pero buscar a Dios por Su palabra sobre tu vida cambia tu enfoque de tu voluntad a la Suya. Desde tu corazón roto y tu alma aplastada al final del año hasta ver a Dios cumplir Su palabra en tu vida. El Año Nuevo es un momento para contar las bendiciones del año pasado y esperar las que aún están por llegar. No te desanimes, los deseos de tu corazón Él los ve y sabe cuánto los deseas, pero quiere que confiemos en Él. Cualquier palabra o frase que Dios te diga o cosa que te pida es para ayudarte a combinar tus deseos con los suyos, para que vuestros corazones estén en unidad unos con otros. Él te alineará con ese deseo tan esperado, tendrás tu árbol de la vida (Proverbios 13:12).
Hermanos y Hermanas este Año Nuevo 2024, tómate un tiempo para ayunar y buscar el rostro de tu Salvador. Desconéctate de las redes sociales, la televisión, el teléfono y cualquier otra cosa que puedas y que te lleve mucho tiempo. ¡Toma papel y lápiz, siéntate ante Dios y ESCUCHA! Es hora de presionar el botón REINICIAR en tu vida. Pon tu corazón ante Él y todo lo que contiene dentro, deja que Él hable sobre tu vida palabras que sean agradables solo para ti. ¡No puedo esperar a ver cumplidas las palabras de Dios para ti en 2024! Eres amado.
